This is the large version of the solar oven with a vacuum glass tube. This model is significantly larger overall, with a wider cooking tray and a larger glass tube volume. In contrast to the small solar oven, which is compact, handy, and relatively light due to its plastic casing, the large solar oven has a relatively high weight. The casing and feet are made of metal. It is more suitable for stationary use and less for mobile deployment.

With this solar oven, you can heat, cook, and prepare food solely with the power of the sun and without the use of electricity or gas.

The solar oven works on the principle that reflectors concentrate the sun's heat rays onto the vacuum glass tube.
The vacuum glass tube is a double-walled glass tube with a vacuum inside, providing strong insulation, similar to a thermos flask. Also, like a thermos flask, the tube is open on one side.

An elongated cooking tray, onto which food is placed beforehand, is inserted into the glass tube. On one side of the cooking tray, there is a handle by which it is held, as well as a stopper that seals the glass tube when the cooking tray is fully inserted. Additionally, on this side, there is a thermometer that displays the internal temperature via a temperature sensor.

The inside of the vacuum glass tube is black and the outside is transparent. This allows heat radiation to pass unhindered to the inside of the glass tube, where it releases heat to the black material. Due to the vacuum insulation, the heat is now retained inside and can only escape very slowly. With continuous radiation, the temperature inside continuously rises over time. Through this principle, it is possible to achieve temperatures of just over 200 °C within approx. 20 minutes with a relatively small reflective surface in ideal sunlight. Even on cloudy days, the inside becomes noticeably warm within a short time. However, to reach temperatures above 100 °C, direct sunlight is absolutely necessary. The more intense it is, the faster the heating process and thus the shorter the entire cooking process.
